Chinese rebar weakens but HRC futures rise again
Chinese steel futures both fluctuated throughout the whole day on Tuesday and HRC futures ended up stronger than those for rebar, Kallanish notes.
Offered prices for both products rose by CNY 70-100/tonne ($10.64-15.20/t) from last Friday, though spot market deals shrank somewhat from Monday.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the January 2018 rebar contract closed at CNY 4,084/t down by CNY 14/t. The same contract for hot rolled coil meanwhile closed up CNY 31…
