Chinese scrap increases on tight supply

China's scrap prices have increased as mill profits picked up, but shipments were curtailed as the market halted during consecutive holidays.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3.043/tonne ($443/t), including VAT. This is stable from Thursday and up CNY 19/t compared with the previous Friday.
