Chinese scrap rises in tight supply
China's scrap steel market started the replenishment bookings before the Dragon Boat Festival holiday this week, leading to a rebound in market prices.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,830/tonne ($398/t), including VAT. This is CNY 1/t higher from Thursday and up CNY 43/t from the previous Friday.
