Chinese steel flat as market enters waiting mode
Chinese steel futures prices were barely changed on Wednesday as production restrictions were unable to push prices further for now. The end of various restrictions after the G20 in early September means all depends on expectations of better demand in the autumn, Kallanish notes.
The January rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed up CNY 4/tonne at CNY 2,589/t ($390/t), while the October hot rolled coil contract closed flat at CNY 2,825/t.
