Chinese steel futures slip

Chinese steel futures prices drifted downwards on Thursday as the market continues to assess prospects going into the summer, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the October rebar contract closed at CNY 3,777/tonne ($547/t), CNY 41/t lower than Tuesday, while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 20/t at CNY 3,670/t. Futures for both products had pretty much steadied in trading earlier this week.
