Chinese steel prices stick on mixed outlook
Chinese steel futures prices closed down only slightly on Wednesday as the domestic market remained steady but quiet. Economic data released over the coming week is likely to have an impact on sentiment, but fundamentals remain soft in the summer lull, Kallanish notes.
The October rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed down CNY 7/tonne at CNY 2,326/t ($349/t), while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 1/t at CNY 2,518/t.
