Chonggang ignites upgraded No.4 blast furnace
Southwest China’s Chongqing Iron & Steel (Chonggang) has successfully completed the upgrade of its No.4 blast furnace, and ignited it on 27 September, Kallanish notes. This is about one week later than estimated in previous reports.
The 1,750m³ BF now has the capacity to produce 5,200 tonnes/day of iron, 1,700 t/d more than its original capacity.
