Coking coal prices remain strong
Seaborne coking coal prices remain strong with new platform trades showing higher prices for November deliveries. Chinese coke prices have also gained further, pushing up steelmaking costs, Kallanish notes.
A 75,000-tonne cargo of branded hard coking coal sold on the GlobalCoal platform at $160/t fob Australia for November delivery. A branded cargo had last sold on the exchange at $139.50/t fob for October.
