Construction demand lifts Mechel’s Chelyabinsk shipments
Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK), part of Mechel, increased first-quarter sales of rails, construction beams and flat products compared to the same period last year.
Construction beam sales increased 21% on-year to 103,000 tonnes, Kallanish notes, while sales of rails increased by 64% to 29,000t.
