CSN halts temporarily blast furnace No. 2
Brazil's Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) has temporarily halted the operation of blast furnace No. 2 at its Volta Redonda plant, Kallanish learns from the company. The BF2 has an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of crude steel.
The decision follows weak domestic steel demand and the Covid-19 outbreak in the country.
