Dagang caps first new blast furnace
China’s Dazhou Iron & Steel (Dagang) in Sichuan Province on Wednesday capped the first blast furnace of its upgrading and relocation project, targeting ignition by September next year, Kallanish notes.
After merging with Fangda Group, the company started to construct the first phase of its relocation project last year (see Kallanish passim). Phase I houses two identical 1,340 cubic metre-BFs, with 2.428 million tonnes/year of hot metal capacity in total.…
