Danieli revamps Gerdau’s Cosigua plant automation system
Brazilian long steelmaker Gerdau has ordered from technology supplier Danieli an upgrade of the core functions of the existing automation control system at its Cosigua plant in Rio de Janeiro.
The revamping includes improving processes at billet caster No.2, rolling mill No.1 and No.3, Danieli tells Kallanish. The original equipment was supplied by the Italian company and has been operating for more than 20 years.
