Debbie effect knocks BHPB coking coal guidance
BHP Billiton has cut its coking coal production guidance for the financial year ending June 2017 from 44 million tonnes to 39-41mt, according to its operational review for the March quarter. Cyclone Debbie knocked out rail infrastructure in Queensland, disrupting coking coal shipments from miners and driving up coking coal prices, Kallanish notes.
