Deutsche Edelstahlwerke develops new hot-working tool steel
Germany’s Deutsche Edelstahlwerke (DEW) has developed a new grade of steel for mould inserts used in the pressing of car body parts.
For this application, the mould insert must be made of a high-strength tool steel that additionally allows for an increase of quenching speed, and a further reduction in cycle times.
