Egypt looks to boost natural gas output
Africa’s largest oil and natural gas consumer, Egypt, plans to become a hydrocarbons net exporter by 2019. This is due to the huge potential in new gas discoveries and government policy measures to attract foreign investment.
Development of its onshore and offshore resources however face a number of challenges such as domestic and international risks, which include the threat of social unrest and terrorism, alongside volatile international gas prices.
