EU drives Turkey's first-half scrap imports rise
Turkish scrap imports climbed on-year in the first half of 2017 as increased intake from the European Union offset the drop in US- and CIS-origin supplies, Kallanish learns from the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD).
First-half scrap imports rose 1.6% year-on-year to 9.33 million tonnes and their total value grew 29% to $2.54 billion, TCUD says in a statement.
