Gerdau capacity utilisation reaches three-year high
Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau’s second-quarter crude steel production rose over the previous trimester and year-on-year, Kallanish notes from the steelmaker's latest operating statement.
Output increased versus Q1 due to scheduled maintenance stoppages in that period at the Brazilian unit. In Q2 Gerdau reached a capacity utilisation rate of around 80%, which represents the highest level since 2018.
