Gerdau profit grows despite lower first-quarter production

Brazilian steelmaker Gerdau saw first-quarter crude steel production fall, Kallanish notes from the steelmaker's latest operating statement. Output fell versus Q4 due to the postponement of planned maintenance stoppages at the Brazilian unit, Gerdau says.
