German car production rises, orders fall in 2023
German automotive federation VDA reports a “significant increase” in passenger cars made in Germany last year. Output from German plants rose by 18% year-on-year to 4.1 million cars, Kallanish learns from the federation’s annual production report. This was however still 12% below the pre-Covid year of 2019, while orders declined in 2023.
