German scrap prices increase slightly despite sluggish market
German scrap prices increased at the beginning in September despite low demand and a weak market after the summer holidays, say local market participants. They expect values to be unstable by the end of the month.
“Steel mills in Europe continue to purchase very low volumes of scrap and there is not much export, but there are hopes for new restocking,” one buyer tells Kallanish.
