Germany continues to decrease scrap exports, imports
Germany’s ferrous scrap exports and imports decreased in January-September, according to data from the German federal statistics office.
Shipments from Germany totalled 5.8 million tonnes, down 3% on-year, Kallanish notes.
The main target country is traditionally the Netherlands, but exports to this destination fell by 11.7% to almost 1.17mt. To Italy, the second-largest buyer country, nine-month shipments however increased by 4% to 1.14mt.
