GFG completes Arrium take-over
UK-based GFG Alliance has completed the acquisition of Australia’s Arrium, it tells Kallanish. GFG is led by Sanjeev Gupta, whose Liberty House has made a flurry of acquisitions focussed on the UK over the last year.
Gupta and GFG will now embark on a 100-day review of the business in order to touch up plans to revitalise the steelmaker, which collapsed under its debts in 2016. It plans to invest up to $1 billion in Arrium’s Whyalla steelworks in ord…
