Global January output falls based on China estimates

Global crude steel production fell 1.6% on-year in January to 148.1 million tonnes, Kallanish notes from worldsteel data. However, this was based heavily on Chinese production being estimated to have fallen. Chinese output was estimated down 6.9% to 77.24mt.
