UAW expands strikes, adding GM plant in Texas
General Motors has walked back on its previously announced profit outlook, citing the UAW’s ongoing labour strike action.
On Tuesday morning, the United Auto Workers union expanded its “Stand Up Strike” to include GM’s profitable assembly plant in Arlington, Texas. Around 45,000 UAW workers are now on strike at several GM, Ford and Stellantis facilities across the US as the union negotiates a contract with the automakers.
