Guilin Pinggang commissions first endless wire rod mill
Guilin Pinggang Iron & Steel, a steel producer in China's Guangxi Province, is operating the first-ever mini-mill producing wire rod in endless casting and rolling mode, Kallanish notes.
Technology supplier Danieli says Pinggang's twin-strand MIDA QLP is now in operation at the steel plant. The mill is running at 111 tonnes/hour per strand, exceeding the design speed of 105 t/h per strand.
