HBIS Handan commissions coke oven

The Handan Steel subsidiary of China’s Hebei Iron & Steel (HBIS) has commissioned and ignited the first of two coke ovens at its relocation project in She County, Handan City. Construction began in May last year. The 7.65-metre 70-oven coke battery has half of the total planned 2.1 million tonnes/year of coke capacity of the whole coking plant, Kallanish notes.
