Hebei steel profits jump but output falls
According to the Hebei Metallurgical Industry Association, since the beginning of this year steel output in Hebei Province has declined but profits have increased. From January to August, crude steel and iron production decreased by -4.12% and -9.55% year-on-year respectively. However, the provincial steel industry's net profits increased 67.91% to CNY 63.14 billion ($9.18 billion), Kallanish notes.
