Hegang Xuangang updates capacity replacement plan
Hebei Iron & Steel’s Xuanhuan subsidiary has amended its steel capacity replacement scheme but will keep its total new ironmaking capacity unchanged by installing fewer but larger blast furnaces.
Xuangang planned to add two 1,800 cubic metre and two 2,500 cu m BFs to the coastal Leting site. According to the adjusted plan, Xuangang will now add three 2,922 cu m BFs but the total new iron capacity remains at 7.32 million tonnes/year of iron.
