Higher nickel affects Liberty Speciality alloy surcharges
Liberty Speciality Steels has lowered its alloy surcharges for just over half of its listed products again month-on-month for August 2019 in a near-repetition of July numbers-wise, Kallanish notes. The increase in nickel prices in the general market has led to sharp increases in those alloys with a high nickel content. The UK company’s scrap surcharge meanwhile is lowered again for August.
