Hoa Phat to double Dung Quat capacity
Vietnam’s Hoa Phat Group has placed orders with Danieli for two new blast furnaces for its Dung Quat steel complex. The new furnaces could more than double the steelworks’ capacity, Kallanish notes.
The new 2,500 cubic metre furnaces would add some 2.5-2.8 million tonnes/year of hot metal capacity, according to Danieli. The furnaces could add actual crude steel capacity of 5.6m t/y with converters added, on top of the 5m t/y of existing capacity. This …
