Hoa Phat's steel output slumps in January

The holidays and sluggish market demand during has dragged down production and sales of Vietnamese steel mills in January, Hoa Phat said in a news release on Monday. The mill produced 392,000 tonnes of crude steel in January, 56% lower than in January last year. Sales of construction steel products, billets and hot-rolled coils fell 64% year-on-year to 402,000t in the same period.
