Hyundai Steel earnings boosted by demand recovery
Thanks to a demand recovery, South Korea’s Hyundai Steel reported higher unaudited revenue and net profit for the first quarter of 2022, Kallanish learns from its report.
Quarterly steel production and sales on a non-consolidated basis came to 4.72 million tonnes and 4.96mt respectively, rising 4.84% and 0.73% year-on-year. “Sales volumes increased as the reopening of the economy spurred steel demand,” the company explains.
