Hyundai Steel returns to profit
Hyundai Steel posted consolidated net profit of KRW 353 billion ($306 million) for the second quarter, up 60.45% quarter-on-quarter, shifting from a loss of KRW 13 billion a year earlier, Kallanish notes.
Quarterly revenue meanwhile came to KRW 5.62 trillion, up 14.1% q-o-q and 36.69% year-on-year. This was achieved by enhancing low-cost manufacturing systems, and profits from subsidiaries abroad amid a tight global steel market.
