Ilva announces temporary layoffs, continues stoppages
Ilva, the Italian integrated producer currently under administration, has announced to the local trade unions the intention to temporarily lay-off 5,000 workers from March. This is due to the need to continue to halt work in different production areas, Kallanish learns from Italian trade union sources.
The layoffs will affect 4,984 workers at the Taranto site and the entire staff of 80 people at its site located at Marghera port.
