Imports rise in April in US
US total imports appear to have risen from March to April, and they remain up on-year, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing preliminary Census Bureau data, the institute puts total steel imports at 2.634 million short tons for April, 1.654m st of which were finished. That’s up 14.1% but down 7.6%, respectively, from March’s final tallies.
