India sees rise in May finished steel production
Indian finished steel production grew 8.9% on-year to 10.90 million tonnes in May, compared to 10mt produced a year ago, according to a Joint Plant Committee report seen by Kallanish.
The finished steel output mostly grew on the back of an uptick in steel consumption. The nation’s steel consumption grew 7.4% on-year to 10.32mt in May, compared to 9.61mt in May 2022.
