Indian graphite electrode producers suspend production
Graphite India is suspending in stages operations at its graphite electrode plants in Durgapur and Satpur. It has already suspended all other operations following India’s three-week lockdown to combat the Covid-19 spread.
“Since the stoppage of manufacturing activities cannot be done in one go from safety point of view (shutting of furnaces takes time), the same is being taken up in stages,” the company says in a note seen by Kallanish.
