Iran pellet output growth outpaces steel in September
Ten major Iranian iron ore pelletising companies reported a 23% on-year output increase in the month through 21 September to 4.1 million tonnes, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro).
In the six months through 21 September, or first half of Iran’s calendar year, therefore, pellet output rose 9% on-year to 22.8mt, Kallanish notes.
