Iranian five-month iron and steel exports grow
Iranian exports of iron and steel products increased significantly during the first five months of the Iranian calendar year (21 March-22 August 2023).
Last year, an export duty was in place to ensure supply in the domestic market and reduce domestic prices. Also, sanctioned Russian semis and longs were discounted in export markets. Consequently, Iranian exports were challenged and shipments were lower than this year, notes Kallanish.
