Iranian ten-month finished steel output declines, semis rise
In the first ten months of the current Iranian year, or 21 March 2023-20 January 2024, Iranian finished steel output inched down marginally, by 0.3% on-year to 18.22 million tonnes. By contrast, semis output rose 5.2% to 27.09mt, notes Kallanish.
Slab production saw a slight increase by 0.5% on-year to 10.12mt, while billet and bloom output grew 8.2% to 16.97mt, according to the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA).
