Iron ore breaks losing streak
Seaborne iron ore prices ticked upwards on Friday, following a week of steady losses. Improved buying helped stabilise prices but some of this appeared to be speculative purchases bases on better Chinese economic sentiment.
The Kallanish index for 62% Fe Australian fines gained $0.26/t to $53/dry metric ton on Friday. There were no confirmed deals on globalORE but Corex saw some activity. Futures prices also increased.
