Iron ore slides as FMG-Vale talks stall
Seaborne iron ore prices continued their somewhat gentle decline on Wednesday as Chinese holidays once again beckon. Meanwhile, talks between Vale and FMG over a joint venture to produce blended ores for sale in China have stalled, according to media reports.
The Kallanish index for 62% Fe Australian fines dipped $0.10/t to $56.02/dry metric ton cfr Qingdao. 80,000 tonnes of Jimblebar traded on globalORE at a floating price for October delivery.
