Italy’s 2021 steel output rises despite December dip
Italian crude steel output increased in 2021 but fell in the month of December, according to data issued by local steelmakers association Federacciai.
Last month, crude steel production declined by 7% year-on-year to 1.4 million tonnes, Kallanish notes. Output hiked in the full year, by 19.8% on-year to 24.4mt.
Italian flat steel production also fell, by 3.9% in December to 781,000t, but rose by 16.9% to 11mt in 2021.
