Italian coil prices hike but buyers remain careful
Cold rolled and hot-dipped galvanised coil prices are surging by some €50/tonne ($54) compared to mid-December, in line with Italian hot rolled coil.
Demand for CRC and HDG is improving in Europe following the quiet holiday period. However, sales have not yet fully taken off in Italy where buyers remain reticent and refuse to commit to higher volumes because of the fragility of downstream demand, Kallanish hears.
