Italian coking coal imports to flatten in 2017
The sale of Italian steelmaker Ilva is expected to be completed by the end of 2016 (see Kallanish 22 November). Rome-based coal umbrella group Assocarboni appears to believe however that Italian steel production down the basic oxygen route will not increase next year.
The association has issued its forecast for Italy’s thermal and metallurgical coal imports in 2017. Assocarboni says in a note that it expects coking coal imports to remain flat at 3.5 millio…
