Italian longs prices decline on low consumption
Italian long steel activity continues to be subdued, with sales volumes low and prices declining. Merchant bar and sections values are falling more moderately compared to other longs, such as wire rod and rebar, but consumption is slow for all products, Kallanish notes.
Activity has been particularly quiet due to the 2 June bank holiday. Because of the subdued market, some sources chose to go on holiday last Thursday and return to work only on Tuesday. Low trade vā¦
