Italian crude steel output tumbles
Crude steel production by Italian mills tumbled in August. Although there had been a brief rebound in May, total output had also fallen over January-August, according to local steelmakers' association Federacciai.
In August crude steel production decreased by as much as -26.6% year-on-year to 857,000 tonnes. Over the first eight months crude steel output also declined, by -4.5% y-o-y to 15.4 million tonnes, the association confirms.
