Italian wire rod prices rise
Italian wire rod producers are pushing up values by €20/tonne ($21) compared to mid-December. This is the second round of increases this month, which is managing to push up transaction values, Kallanish notes.
After surging earlier in December, sales activity is now going quiet. Some drawing mills are already idling their plants. Both distributors and drawing mills are reaching the end of the year with low stocks due to a continued process of destocking.
