Izhstal increases automotive shipments in first quarter
Miner and steelmaker Mechel's stainless steel arm, Izhstal, increased its sales in January-March, the company says.
The plant sold over 92,000 tonnes of steel products, up by 4% on-year, Kallanish notes.
At the same time, the shipment of special steel grades increased. Nickel-containing steel deliveries rose by 32%, stainless steel by 61%, stainless with nickel by 25%, alloyed tool steel by 33 % and bearing by 79%.
