Japan produces more steel in January
Japanese pig iron and steel production increased in January, following growth in orders of steel products last December, according to data from the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF).
Japan produced 5.34 million tonnes of pig iron in January, up 5.5% month-on-month and 0.3% year-on-year. Fiscal-year-to-date production through January was flat y-o-y at 52.7mt.
